Kia ora e te whānau,

On behalf of the school, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents who generously supported our recent Ohope Beach camps. Your willingness to help with transport, supervision, and a whole range of behind-the-scenes tasks made the experience not only possible, but truly memorable for our students.

Your time, energy, and enthusiasm ensured that every child felt safe, supported, and ready to take on new challenges. It has been amazing to see all the photos of students taking part in all the experiences camp has provided. Camps like this are only successful because of the strong community spirit we are fortunate to have, and we are incredibly grateful for your involvement. Thanks to our staff who left their families at home to run the camps and support our students, and thanks to Whaea Kathryn for all her behind the scenes organisation.

I want to acknowledge all of our Mokoia staff and students for your patience, flexibility, and resilience during the recent classroom closures prompted by suspected asbestos contamination. Situations like this are disruptive and stressful, and your willingness to adapt so quickly—shifting spaces, adjusting routines, and maintaining a positive outlook—has made an enormous difference. To our staff: thank you for continuing to support students, reorganising learning environments on short notice, and keeping our community safe and informed. Your professionalism and care are deeply appreciated.

As we approach the end of the school year, we want to take a moment to acknowledge all the hard work, growth, and accomplishments our students have achieved so far. This is an exciting time filled with celebrations and milestones, and we appreciate the partnership and support you’ve shown throughout the year.

Although the finish line is in sight, there are still many important learning opportunities and events ahead. From final assessments to field trips, prom, and year-end prizegiving, the coming weeks remain full and meaningful for our students.

We kindly ask for your continued support in maintaining the high standards and expectations that help our school thrive. Consistent attendance, positive behavior, and correct uniform are essential as we wrap up the year on a successful note.
