Matua Rawiri’s Shout Out

Tena Koutou Parents & Caregivers

It has been another productive week here at Mokoia Intermediate. As we progress through the term, we would like to take this opportunity to provide you with some important updates and reminders regarding our school community.

Strategic Plan Update: We are pleased to inform you that the school’s strategic plan is well underway, with our focus firmly set on providing the best possible learning environment for our students. Over the past weeks, our leadership team have been diligently reviewing and refining our strategic objectives to ensure they align with our vision for the future of education at Mokoia Intermediate. We are excited about the progress we are making and look forward to sharing more details with you in the coming weeks.

Expected Behavior at School: As members of the Mokoia School community, we all play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and respectful learning environment. We kindly remind students to adhere to our school’s code of conduct and expectations for behavior. This includes treating all staff and fellow students with kindness and respect, following classroom rules, and contributing to a safe and inclusive atmosphere for everyone. By upholding these standards, we can create a supportive environment where every student can thrive academically and socially.

Respect for Staff and Other Students: We would like to emphasize the importance of showing respect towards our dedicated staff members and fellow students. Our teachers and support staff work tirelessly to provide the best possible education and support for all students, and it is essential that we appreciate their efforts. Additionally, fostering a culture of kindness and understanding towards one another promotes a positive school climate and enhances the overall learning experience for everyone.

Success of the Noho Marae Experience: We are thrilled to report that the recent Noho Marae experience was a resounding success! Students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in Maori culture, participate in traditional activities, and forge meaningful connections with their peers and the wider community. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all staff, students, and community members who contributed to making this event a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.

As always, we appreciate your ongoing support and cooperation in helping us maintain a thriving school community. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
