Matua Rawiri’s Shout Out

Tena Koutou Parents & Caregivers

We are excited to share with you the latest happenings at Mokoia Intermediate in our recent newsletter. Here are some highlights from the past week:

Tahiti Group Visit:
We were honored to welcome a group from Tahiti to our school with a traditional pōhiri ceremony. The students greeted our visitors with beautiful singing and a heartfelt welcome, showcasing our school’s commitment to cultural exchange and hospitality. It was amazing listening to their beautiful singing too. As part of the Tahiti Group Visit, our students had the opportunity to exchange gifts with our visitors, fostering connections and friendships across cultures. It was a wonderful experience of sharing and learning from one another.

Rūmaki Students’ Pōhiri:
Our Rūmaki students showcased their cultural pride and leadership skills by performing a pōhiri for a group of Waikato Principals. The students’ dedication and poise were truly impressive, highlighting the rich cultural heritage and traditions within our school community.

Awesome School Swimming Sports:
Yesterday our school held an exciting and energetic swimming sports event, with enthusiastic participation from all students. It was fantastic to see our students showcasing their swimming skills, sportsmanship, and team spirit in a fun and supportive environment. The free sausage sizzle went
down well as a treat.

We are proud of our students for their achievements and contributions to our school community. Thank you to our dedicated staff, parents, and volunteers for their ongoing support and encouragement.

As we continue to foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and excellence, we look forward to more exciting events and opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and succeed together.

Stay tuned for more updates and news in our upcoming newsletters.
